We are rewriting our terms for long-term rentals off campus. This version is being reviewed and does not yet apply. Ask us on WhatsApp if anything here matters to your rental and we'll tell you exactly what applies today.
Boards get dinged. That is surfing, and we would rather tell you up front what it costs than surprise you afterwards. Everything below is a fixed price — no estimates, no haggling, no invented repair quotes.
What we expect from you
- Check the gear at handover. We look at the board together and take photos. Anything already there is on record and is not your problem.
- Tell us the same day. If something happens, send us a photo on WhatsApp that day. Reporting late makes damage harder to assess, and we may have to treat it as the next category up.
- Keep surfing on it if it is safe. A small ding is not an emergency. A crack that lets water in is — stop using the board and tell us, because a wet core turns a 35 € repair into a new board.
- Don't repair it yourself. A bad repair costs more to undo than the original damage.
- Rinse boards and wetsuits after use, and never wax a soft top.
Fixed damage prices
Surfboards

Normal wear — faded colour, small scuffs from ordinary use, a slightly stretched wetsuit — costs you nothing. We only charge for the categories listed above. Anything genuinely not covered here is charged fairly according to what the repair actually costs, and we show you the invoice.
Damage Cover
Damage Cover is optional and you choose it when you send your request. The price depends on how long you rent — from 6 € for two weeks to 39 € for sixteen. You will see the exact amount before you confirm.
What it covers
Every kind of accidental damage in the table above, including a snapped board. With cover, the most you pay for any damage during your rental is 25 € in total.
What it does not cover
- Theft or loss of the board, fins, leash or wetsuit
- Damage in transport — on a roof rack, in a car, on a plane or a bus
- Damage caused on purpose, or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Damage from lending the gear to someone else
- Damage you did not report on the day it happened
In those cases the fixed prices above apply in full, whether or not you took the cover.
How you pay
Damage is settled when you hand the gear back — cash, PayPal or Revolut, same as the rental itself. We do not hold a deposit and we do not keep your card details.

Portuguese law applies and the courts of Lisbon have jurisdiction. If any clause turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in force.
